Achensee
At Achen Lake we accomodated in campsite "Alpencaravanpark Achensee". You can pitch a tent on the field, which is only for tents. This camp was quite expensive and places for tent are good but the lake is not visible from that place. Sanitary facilities were luxury and clean.
1 night, 3 persons, 2 tents and car = almost 70 euros.
Weather was bad when we were there so we bought day ticket for ferry. With that you can basically be traveling on the boat the whole day. With ferry you can easily get to the other side of the Lake as we did. We got off in Pertisau and we used cable car "Karwendel Bergbahn" to get to Zwölferkopf. From there you can take some nice shots of almost the whole lake. There are also some hikes around the top and there is a cabin where you cant get some food and drink. And that was pretty much our day and night at Achen Lake.

Hohe Tauern

On the way to Hohe Tauern specifically to Prägraten am Großvenediger Gemeindeamt you have to pay toll for a tunnel. In Hohe Tauern we picked hike "Muhs panorama trail" and we really liked it. It is nice circuit that should be average difficulty. During the walk there are some amazing views, you can meet cows on the trail and there are also two cabins, where you can get some food and drink. It took us about 7-8 hours to get back to the parking place.
After this hike we wanted to get as close to the next stop as possible, so we ended up in the camp "Campingdorf Hofer". For one night stay it's okey but I could not stay longer, because the camp is in the middle of city and that is not much cozy it's kinda weird. Sanitary facilities were nice and clean.
1 night, 3 persons, 2 tents and car = almost 50 euros.

Schlegeis Stausee
On the way to this spectacular dam you have to pay toll for road that leads tight to the dam. I highly recommend to wake up early and get there as soon as possible. Because the road where you pay a toll is only one way road so it is controlled by traffic lights and the later you get there the longer a snake of cars will be. And it is also about weather, during morning you have bigger chance to actually see something. Many places to park at dam fo free.
When we got there the place was full of fog but after a while blue sky came in and amazing view was revealed to us. There are 3 huts where you can get some food and drink and eventually really nice view. Lake is really huge and you can sort of hike arround it, but not completely. I also saw that it is starting point to many nice hikes.
Above this dam there is this popular place where people take photos on the bridge and the lake is below. We were not there for 3 reasons:
- It is not that epic, it is just visual illusion because some river used to flow there but not anymore. So you are actually like 2 metres high from ground.
- It was hot day and we were done from the hike before.
- As fog/cloud is getting away from the dam it actually gets stuck right at this height where the bridge is, so eventually you would have no photos.
Eibsee
Our last stop was Eibsee. I already know this place and I just love it. I have not felt better swimming than there. You are basically just at the highest german mountain Zugspitze which I highly recommend to visit. I have published article about it already so just find it and translate it to english, there are some useful hints and links to cable car.
We wanted to sleep at lake as I already did once, but we were really tired and due to this Corona situation it was really crowded. So in the end we slept in camp "Camping experience Zugspitze". You can have there some nice views of Zugspitz but it is mostly camp for caravans, because places for tents were small.
1 night, 3 persons, 2 tents and car = I think it was around 50 - 60 euros.
